Jim Pflaging

Jim Pflaging – President and Chief Executive Officer

Jim brings SenSage over 20 years of experience in enterprise software, managed security services, and wireless systems management. Prior to SenSage, Jim held the position of CEO for Bonsai Networks, a provider of Wi-Fi system management solutions, and shepherded Bonsai through its acquisition in early 2004. Prior to Bonsai, he served as President and CEO of Intraspect Software, a provider of enterprise software that enables enhanced collaboration and content management. At Intraspect, Pflaging grew the company from a pre-revenue start-up to an industry leader with over 200 customers, which was later acquired by Vignette. Earlier, Pflaging served as President and CEO of Pacific Bell Network Integration, a managed security and network services provider, where he guided the company from its inception to profitability, building a customer base numbering in the hundreds. Mr. Pflaging holds a B.S. in Commerce with concentration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Virginia.
Joan Varrone

Joan Varrone – Chief Financial Officer

Joan Varrone is an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with over 20 years experience at high tech companies in Silicon Valley. Joan’s accomplishments include CFO for the last nine years at four companies and during that time leading a successful IPO, raising over $100M of private equity, and managing a company sale. As well, Joan served as Treasurer at Watkins-Johnson and held senior finance positions at Raychem Corporation. Joan has an MBA in Finance from New York University, an MS in Operations Research from Purdue University, and a BS in mathematics.
Dan Barahona

Dan Barahona – Vice President of Business Development

Dan is responsible for identifying and managing business development and alliances. Over the past six years at SenSage, he has emerged as an industry expert on issues involving information security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. He has deep operational experience in engineering, logistics, business development, as well as experience in mergers and acquisitions in the semiconductor, logistics, data management software and the security industries. Dan began his career at General Motors as a design engineer, and held management positions in Allied Signal’s semiconductor organization, GetToday (which he founded), and AppStream. Dan has a B.S. degree in Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master of Engineering degree from Cornell University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Rick Schultz

Rick Schultz – Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Rick is responsible for all customer relationships, channels, and sales activities. He has more than 25 years experience in direct and channel sales—10 of those as a VP of Sales for growth companies. Prior to SenSage, he was at Fox Technologies, compliance controls software provider. At Postini, he built the enterprise sales team and was responsible for expanding growth in all channels. At Digital Island, he led the sales organization from early stages to an IPO, $100M+ in revenue and acquisition by Cable & Wireless. Earlier, Pacific Bell Network Integration, a managed security and network services provider, he built the entire field organization and grew the customer base to hundreds. Rick holds a B.S. from DePaul University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Ed Chopskie

Ed Chopskie – Vice President of Marketing

Ed is responsible for all marketing functions and inside sales. Ed has over 15 years of professional experience with both pre-IPO and public software companies. Ed joined SenSage from Creekpath which was acquired by Opsware in 2006.  Ed began his software company career at BMC Software and has held VP of Marketing roles at four software companies since then. He spent nine years with Peregrine Systems, joining prior to their IPO to lead the product development organization and later built their product management and product marketing teams before moving into leadership roles in corporate marketing. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Florida and has completed Graduate Level Finance and Marketing studies at Stanford Business School and Harvard Business School. He also holds an ITIL Executive Level Certification.
Rao Yendlur

Rao Yendluri – Vice President of Engineering

Rao has more than 25 years of leadership experience in all aspects of relational database development and data warehousing. Prior to SenSage, Rao was the VP of Engineering at ANTs Software a public company that offers a high-performance SQL database management system. Previously, Rao founded and was president of iNuCom  (acquired by Ascential Software before being acquired by IBM), a software development firm specializing in data warehousing components.  Prior to iNuCom, Rao held many leadership positions including vice president of engineering for Solid Information Technology, director of development at Prism Solutions, Inc. and director of development at Centura Software Corporation (now GUPTA Technologies, LLC). Rao was also at Tandem Computers for 10 years and was instrumental in forming the SQL Access Group, which developed the X/Open CLI API, an industry standard for database programmatic interface. Rao has achieved a Masters in Computer Science.
Charlie McAlister

Charlie McAlister – Director Europe, Middle East and Africa

Charlie McAlister is a 25 year veteran of the IT Industry and has experience ranging from Platform providers through Enterprise Application Vendors and Internet Tools and Solution developers. Charlie is responsible for both direct and channel sales and support across SenSage’s push into EMEA and is developing business activities both with End Users and in conjunction with Channel partners. Prior to SenSage McAlister spend several years at EMC as Business Development Manager for the EMC Centera business unit in EMEA and has held senior Sales and Alliances roles at companies such as Sequent, SAP and SCC.
Chris Berry

Chris Berry – Director of Services and Support

Chris Berry is an early employee of SenSage and is responsible for the Professional Services and Technical Support at SenSage. Chris has 15 years of experience providing Technical Support, and 9 years in Support management. Prior to joining SenSage, he was a Product Support Engineer at Sybase. As the first Manager of Web Search and Enterprise Search Technical Support at Inktomi, he grew the support organization to a 15 person team serving 2500 customers, and served as Director of Technical Support for Enterprise Search/Ultraseek at both Inktomi and Verity. Chris has a B.A. in Science from San Francisco State University.
Eric Karlson

Eric Karlson – Chief Architect

Eric is one of SenSage’s founding employees and is responsible for identifying and developing technology that will advance SenSage’s position as a market leader.  He has 16 years experience working in technology startup companies, building the core technologies that have been the heart of their value propositions and has served in an executive managerial capacity to help guide corporate objectives.  Eric has a broad technological knowledge base with a great deal of experience in building scalable, distributed processing systems and is one of the patent holders for SenSage’s columnar database.  Prior to SenSage, Eric was recruited out of the UC Berkeley graduate program, where he was completing a PhD in artificial intelligence by E-Fax Communications where he served as VP of Technical Development and also served on the Board.  Eric has a B.S. with distinction in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Kevin Hanrahan

Kevin Hanrahan – Executive Director and Senior Security Systems Architect

Kevin is responsible for the development of new security analytics solutions in both established and emerging markets. An established industry expert in the information security field, brings considerable experience in designing and developing breakthrough security software products and solutions. Prior to SenSage, Kevin was chief technology officer at netForensics, where he helped create the SIM space and led the design and development of the company’s product architecture. Prior to netForensics, Kevin was CTO of NetCom Systems and served as Assistant Vice President of Equity Front-End Systems for Lehman Brothers. Earlier, he worked in engineering at Lexis-Nexis, and as a consultant for CETA. Kevin holds a B.S.C.S from North Georgia College and State University and an M.S.C.S. from Clemson University.
