Eric has 14 years of experience in venture capital, technology and management consulting. Prior to joining FTV Capital in 2002, Eric was Director of Online Services at myCFO, a start-up wealth management firm. He joined myCFO from America Online, where he held several roles including management of Netscape's Personal Finance Channel. Prior to the acquisition of Netscape by AOL, Eric led product management for the Netscape Navigator browser. He has also worked at Microsoft and at McKinsey & Company, where he primarily worked with telecommunications clients. Eric received an AB summa cum laude from Harvard University, where he focused on economics and computer science, and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Maha Ibrahim invests in innovative cloud, mobile, and digital media companies with the potential to become global market leaders. Maha is known in the venture industry for her ability to spot technology trends early, foster growth at her portfolio companies through hands-on operational guidance, and achieve profitable exits for entrepreneurs and investors. Maha joined Canaan's Menlo Park office in March 2000. Early on, she led the firm's investment in Tacit Networks, helping the company negotiate a partnership with Brocade and a later acquisition by Packeteer Networks. Maha also established Canaan as a lead investor in Mobilitec (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent) and MiNO Wireless. Maha led Canaan's investments in PicksPal (acquired by Liberty Media), Watercooler, Virsto, SenSage and eBillme. Prior to joining Canaan, Maha held numerous executive-level roles at Qwest Communications, including Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of eBusiness and Internet Operations. While at Qwest, her keen networking skills helped the company forge relationships with Netscape and Microsoft. Earlier in her career, Maha was a management consultant with both the Boston Consulting Group and Price Waterhouse. Maha holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT.
Adam Sah is the technical founder of SenSage. Previously, he was a senior technical staff member at Google where he invented Google Gadgets, used in numerous products including iGoogle, Gmail, YouTube and more. Prior to founding SenSage he was Chief Scientist and Vice President of Internet Technology for Internet Pictures Corporation, the exclusive provider of photo-hosting for eBay. Earlier, Adam was co-founder of Cohera Corporation, and also one of the original team members at Inktomi, where he was Director of Technology and a core engineer on Hotbot and Goo, the leading search engines from 1996 to 1998. Adam started his career as an engineer for Ovid Technologies. Adam received a Master's degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has co-authored 5 patents in databases and internet image processing.
Richard See has over 20 years experience in venture capital, M&A, and LBOs. He helped start Mitsui's Private Equity Department in 1997 and has invested in over 25 companies in telecommunications, software, and Internet infrastructure. He is involved in the convergence of telecommunications and the Internet, particularly new business modalities as companies move functions to the Internet. His investments have included: Plumtree Software, Promatory Communications, Array Biopharma, Mahi Networks, Celion, Luxn, BeamReach, Nexsi, ChemConnect, and TradeCard. Previously, he oversaw Mitsui's US network of over 100 subsidiaries, and executed acquisitions, investments, and divestitures. Mr. See's experience also includes work for Citicorp, where he managed a $1.6 billion portfolio related to major investment banks; the Bank of New York, where he grew the middle market service industry portfolio by 29%; and Chase Manhattan Bank, where he originated investment banking and corporate finance deals totaling $5.4 billion. Mr. See holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College.
Steve Williams is a general partner at Sierra Ventures, a private venture capital firm located in Menlo Park, California, which focuses its investments on early and pre-public communications, software and Internet related content and infrastructure companies. Prior to joining Sierra, he was executive vice president of worldwide sales and chief operating officer of Marimba, Inc., a leading provider of Internet infrastructure management solutions. He was responsible for Marimba's worldwide operations, new business directions, and sales strategies. Prior to joining Marimba, Steve served as vice president of sales, Western North America, for Tivoli Systems, managing sales revenue in excess of $100 million dollars. He joined Tivoli upon the release of its initial product and built an extremely successful sales organization. Prior to his tenure at Tivoli, Steve was vice president and general manager of Bishop Graphics. Steve received a B.S.E.E. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
